She’s seventeen, has the boots on the ledge
Woke up six a.m. on the morning hedge
Took the beg, got the glasses and two cigars
Down the stairs the car is ready is full of gas
Yeah!

She’s not a prisoner
She’s just a modern girl
Don’t try to be confused
She’s not even like you

Took the train, cached the plane, she travelled again
On the streets, on the squares, everybody was a friend
Just want to see all the mysteries of human being
All alone she was proud as a world citizen

She’s not a prisoner
She’s just a modern girl
Don’t try to be confused
She’s not even like you

And when she came across the corner of four states
Took the lighter, picked the ganja and sailed away
Then she escaped from the deserts to the northern woods
On the cities, on the roads, she was Frankie the hood

Don’t want know, don’t want to see
Sometimes your life is a mistery
She has to deal with pain and loneliness

She was a strange, she needs faith
When there’s nothing much to carry on the way

Watch the light at the end
Can’t you see the lights?
Can’t you feel the air?
Run away, just away
Don’t look back, nightmares want you back
Feel the light, look at the sky
You realize the world is on your back

She’s not a prisoner
She’s just a modern girl
Don’t try to be confused
She’s not even like you
